The layout page under Settings > Appearance > Layout lets you customize the look and feel of your DataTako environment. All settings on this page are optional.
General settings

Details
Application name
Replaces all occurrences of “DataTako” throughout the application with your own name. Shown in the sidebar, login screen, and browser title.
Application slogan
Replaces the default slogan “Sharing reports made easy” with your own text.
Forced language
Forces the entire application into a single language for all users. When set, users cannot switch languages and the language selector is hidden.
Use American flag for English
Displays the American flag instead of the British flag for the English language option. Only visible when no forced language is set.
Font family
Changes the font used throughout the entire application. Choose from: Poppins (default), Public Sans, Roboto, Open Sans, Lato, Montserrat, Inter, Nunito, Raleway, Ubuntu, Playfair Display, or Merriweather.
Hide DataTako support chat
Hides the built-in support chat widget. Note that on the login page, the chat is only hidden when using a custom domain.
Custom chat widget code
Paste your own chat widget code here (for example from Tidio or Intercom). The widget code is loaded on every page.
Custom help widget
Configure a custom help dialog that appears when users click a question mark icon at the bottom left of the screen. You can set a custom title and custom help text. HTML is supported in the help text, so you can include links and formatting.
Hide introduction checklist tour
Hides the onboarding checklist tour for other admins in your organization.
Colors
All colors are set using a color picker. Each color has a specific role in the application.

Primary color
The main brand color used for buttons, links, active states, and highlights throughout the application.
Primary contrast text color
The text color used on top of the primary color (for example, text on primary-colored buttons).
Secondary color
A secondary accent color used for less prominent UI elements.
Secondary contrast text color
The text color used on top of the secondary color.
Additional color
A third accent color available for further customization.
Additional contrast text color
The text color used on top of the additional color.

Navigation bar background
The background color of the sidebar or horizontal navigation bar.
Top bar
The background color of the top bar (app bar).
Top bar text color
The text and icon color used in the top bar.
Background color
The main page background color behind all content cards. Useful in combination with the borderless report mode to create a seamless experience.
Card background color
The background color of content cards and panels throughout the application.

The main text color used for headings and body text.
Secondary text color
The color used for less prominent text such as subtitles and helper text.
Navbar text color
The text color of menu items in the navigation bar.
Navbar active menu item text color
The text color of the currently active menu item in the navigation bar.
Logos

Main logo
The primary logo shown in the sidebar header and on the login screen. Maximum file size: 900 KB.
Menu collapsed logo
A smaller logo shown when the sidebar is collapsed. Typically a square icon version of your logo. Maximum file size: 900 KB.
Favicon
The small icon shown in the browser tab. Maximum file size: 100 KB.
Report layout settings
These settings control how Power BI reports are displayed within the application.

Loading indicator logo
A logo shown while the application and reports are loading. If not set, the main logo is used. Maximum file size: 900 KB.
Replace default Power BI loading indicator
When enabled, your loading indicator logo replaces the standard Power BI loading animation. This may add approximately 200ms to the initial report load time.
Report border mode
Choose between bordered (default, shows a subtle border around reports) or borderless (removes the border for a cleaner look). Combined with a matching background color, borderless mode creates a seamless experience.
Use transparent Power BI report background
Makes the Power BI report background transparent instead of the default white or grey. This lets the page background color show through.
Full screen report display
Removes all padding and borders around the report for maximum viewport usage.
Compact report toolbar
Hides the report toolbar and replaces it with a small toggle button that expands when clicked. Useful when you want to maximize the report viewing area.
Report language selector
The report language selector lets users switch the language of individual reports directly from the report viewer toolbar. This is separate from the application language and is useful when reports contain translations via Power BI localization features.

Enable language selector on reports
Enables the language selector feature. When enabled, the settings below become available. Individual reports can opt in or out via the “show report language selector” checkbox in the report configuration.
Auto-detect language from browser
Automatically sets the initial report language based on the user’s browser language preference.
Default language
The fallback language used when auto-detect is disabled or when the browser language is not in the allowed list.
Allowed languages
The set of languages available in the report language selector. Users can only switch between these languages. Available languages include: English, Nederlands, Deutsch, Espanol, Portugues (BR), Francais, Italiano, Dansk, Suomi, Norsk Bokmal, Svenska, Polski, Turkce, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, and Hebrew.

Default, Bordered
Switches between a softer look (default) and a more defined border around UI elements (bordered).
Content width
Full, Boxed
Full width expands content as you widen your screen. Boxed creates a more compact, centered layout.
Footer type
Fixed, Static, Hidden
Fixed keeps the footer always visible at the bottom. Static lets it scroll with content. Hidden removes it entirely.
Appbar (topbar)
Fixed, Static, Hidden, Sticky top
Controls the top bar behavior. Fixed keeps it always visible. Static lets it scroll away. Hidden removes it entirely (quick search and profile move to the navigation bar). Sticky top keeps it pinned at the top of the page.
Menu layout
Vertical, Horizontal
Vertical places the navigation in a sidebar on the left. Horizontal places it as a bar across the top of the page.
Menu collapsed
On, Off
When enabled, the sidebar starts in its collapsed (icon-only) state by default. Only available when using the vertical menu layout and the menu is not hidden.
Quick navigation settings
The quick navigation section is a collapsible area in the sidebar that gives users fast access to their most-used report groups.

Show quick navigation menu
When disabled, the quick navigation section is hidden from the sidebar entirely.
Background color
The background color of the quick navigation area in the sidebar. Default is a dark grey (#4f5664).
Quick navigation font scale
Adjusts the font size of quick navigation items. Ranges from 0.7x to 1.3x, with 1x as the default. Useful when item names are long.
Enable word wrap for long names
When enabled, long menu item names wrap to multiple lines instead of being truncated with an ellipsis.
