Embedding in other application
DataTako allows you to embed Power BI reports in other applications with just a few clicks. Embedding is supported in all DataTako plans.
Please note: if you want to embed a Power BI report without anyone to have to authenticate you can use the https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-publish-to-web method!
Lets get started
Navigate to the Report sharing screen and click on the ‘Share Power BI report’ button to create a new configuration:

Create a report configuration as you normally would. Make sure to configure the report access as you normally would in the Shared with section.

Press Save configuration. You will be navigated back to the overview, open the report configuration again. A new tab at the top has appeared called ‘Embed’.
Click on the Embed tab and you’ll the following:

Click the ‘Enable embedding’ checkbox to convert the report configuration to an embed configuration. With the embed URL you can load this report in any other application in iframe.
Report settings & parameters
You can hide the highlighted element in the screenshot below by enabling the ‘Hide report title and action buttons’ option.

Parameters
You can also configure report iframe URL parameters in the parameters section on the embed tab.

DataTako can retrieve specific values from the iframe URL and apply it as Power BI filters. To get a general idea on how the parameter maps to a Power BI filter, read more here.
lets explain with an example:

In this case, if you use the embed url like so:
https://app-stg.datatako.com/external-embed/8f971fd1-e0bc-49a9-8390-c1df5185b46a?projectid=12345
the projectid=12345 is taken from the URL, and the 12345 is then applied as Power BI filter for the user/projectid entity.
You can also use user specific parameters, as you normally would. Read more on that here.
