DataTako Customer API

The DataTako Customer API is available free of charge with every plan. It gives you programmatic access to your DataTako environment so you can integrate DataTako data and functionality into your own systems and workflows.

You can manage and configure your API keys from the API Keys section in your organisation settings: https://app.datatako.com/settings/?tab=apiKeys

A common use case is to pull DataTako usage statistics into your own data warehouse or analytics platform, to get an idea on how DataTako is being used by your users or customers.

Active Development & Roadmap

The Customer API is currently in active development. With each update, we’re adding more endpoints and capabilities. Our long-term goal is to enable you to:

  • Programmatically control almost every aspect of your DataTako environment
  • Retrieve detailed usage information and telemetry for reporting and monitoring
  • Automate common tasks that you currently perform via the UI

Getting started

Navigate to the https://app.datatako.com/settings/?tab=apiKeys page.

Create an API key by pressing the Create API key button. Provide a friendly name that will help you remember what the key is used for.

Make sure to immediately copy the key from this window, because it cannot be retrieved once this window is closed.

Pass the copied ApiKey as ‘Authorization’ header with each request.
